{What is community supported agriculture?}
Our subscription program, also known as community supported agriculture (CSA), creates
a relationship of mutual support and commitment between the farmer and the community. Your
annual fee covers the production cost of the farm; in exchange you receive a share
of the harvest. CSA programs, which are growing nation-wide, help keep small farms like
ours in business.
By Subscribing to the Farmhouse Organics CSA program, you will:
- Build a personal connection with your food, the land on which it was produced and the farmers who planted and picked it.
- Enjoy delicious, nutritious produce grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
- Help maintain productive Poulsbo farmland as open space.
- Know your food dollars support a local farmer rather than pay for long-distance shipping, packaging, and refrigeration.
{Farmhouse Organics 2006 CSA Program}
To participate in our CSA program, purchase a share or half-share at the start of the season. A full share will feed a
household of four or more, or a smaller vegetarian household. A half share should be sufficient for a household of one to two adults and younger children.
Each week you'll receive a box of fresh vegetables, fruits, and farm produces chosen especially for you. You may also want to add a flower share to your subscription.
We will work with subscribers to ensure the program meets their individual needs. A weekly e-mail newsletter will keep you up to date about what is fresh at the farm.
We are selling a limited number of shares - sign up early and become a part of our farm family. |
